The Milwaukee Bucks are being considered a potential landing spot for former player PJ Tucker, who might be on the outs with the Los Angeles Clippers. According to a report by Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, if Tucker becomes a free agent, the Bucks are among the teams viewed as possible homes for him.
Fischer suggested that the Washington Wizards could facilitate a trade using their Kristaps Porzingis trade exception to acquire Tucker from the Clippers. Tucker, known for his defensive skills and veteran experience, played a crucial role in the Bucks’ NBA championship win in 2021.
The Bucks, currently facing defensive challenges, could benefit from Tucker’s potential return, given their lower defensive ranking this season. However, a potential obstacle to the trade could be Tucker’s desire for a new team, as the Clippers may be hesitant to trade him to direct competitors for the NBA title.
Despite the Bucks’ admiration for Tucker, acquiring him may be complicated due to his age and contract, making teams prefer signing him outright rather than trading for him. The Clippers’ decision on Tucker’s future will ultimately determine the course of action regarding his potential move to the Bucks.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Damian Lillard is vying for a starting position in the NBA All-Star Game, having made seven appearances in the event throughout his illustrious career but never as a starter. Despite his impressive track record, he faces tough competition from Trae Young, the standout point guard for the Atlanta Hawks.
According to the latest fan returns, Lillard currently ranks third among Eastern Conference guards, trailing Tyrese Haliburton and Trae Young. Haliburton leads with 2,718,973 votes, followed by Young with 1,815,898, while Lillard has accumulated 1,730,036 votes.
The All-Star Game starters consist of three frontcourt and two backcourt players. Based on fan votes, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, and Jayson Tatum are likely frontcourt starters. In the backcourt, Tyrese Haliburton has a substantial lead, leaving a close contest between Lillard and Young for the final spot, with Young holding an 85,862-vote advantage.
Despite the challenging fan vote situation, there is hope for Lillard. The fan votes constitute only 50% of the final decision, with player votes and a media panel each contributing 25%. The outcome of these additional voting components, along with the fan votes, will determine if Lillard secures his first-ever career start in the NBA All-Star Game. The voting concludes on Saturday.
