Auburn is embarking on the biggest construction project in the history of its athletics program. The university’s board of trustees gave the green light Friday for a major multipurpose facility and plaza to be added to the north end of Jordan-Hare Stadium, with a combined price tag of $323 million $305 million for the facility itself and $18 million for the plaza.
Work is set to kick off this summer, with Auburn aiming to have part of the complex up and running by fall 2028 and the rest wrapped up by spring 2029.
Athletic director John Cohen was visibly moved at the announcement, calling it a landmark moment not just for the athletic department but for Auburn University as a whole.
The centerpiece of the project is a seven-story addition to Jordan-Hare that will add 3,000 premium seats and bring expanded dining options to campus. The facility will also include flexible event and conference spaces, retail areas, student activity zones, and meeting rooms. On the infrastructure side, the project adds five new entry gates, 13 elevators, 66 additional concession stands, and 270 restroom fixtures.
The last major upgrade at Jordan-Hare was the installation of a $25.7 million video board in the same end zone, completed ahead of the 2025 season.
