Lalonde will serve as an assistant coach alongside Jack Capuano of the Ottawa Senators, Ty Hennes of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Greg Moore, working under head coach John Hynes. Additionally, Alex Westlund from the Red Wings will be the goaltending coach, while Mike King from the Senators will handle video coaching duties.

This isn’t Lalonde’s first stint with Team USA; he previously coached at the world championship last year and has been involved with the U.S. Junior Select Team in the World Junior A Challenge, winning championships in 2012 and 2013.
Despite uncertainties about his availability due to Detroit’s playoff push, Lalonde expressed his commitment to USA Hockey, emphasizing his willingness to contribute to the tournament if needed.
Both Larkin and Lyon have been named to the USA squad for the championship, marking Larkin’s sixth appearance and Lyon’s return since his participation in the 2015 tournament.
Thank you Red Wings, my teammates, coaches and all the fans of Hockey Town for welcoming me and my family with open arms this season. This past year gave us memories we’ll never forget. The work doesn’t stop. #LGRW
