Breaking: How Houston Rockets’ Alperen Şengün Escapes Major Injury After Scary Fall…

Houston Rockets’ Alperen Şengün experienced a concerning fall during Sunday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings, leading to a lower right leg injury with just under 40 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

The incident occurred as he landed awkwardly while contesting a shot by Domantas Sabonis, forcing him to leave the game in a wheelchair.

Fortunately, recent reports from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski have revealed that Şengün has managed to avoid a major injury to his wounded leg. Despite this positive development, the third-year player did suffer a “severely sprained ankle and a bone bruise on his knee.”

Teammates expressed their sympathy for Şengün, acknowledging the inherent risks of injuries in the game. Fred VanVleet commented on the unfortunate situation, stating, “It sucks, injuries are a part of the game. It is always tough to see your teammates go down. It was a scary-looking injury. A scary-looking fall. Hopefully, all of the images come back clean.”

Şengün had been enjoying a standout season before the injury, leading the Rockets to a 3-1 record with notable performances. In a recent game against the San Antonio Spurs, he achieved a career-high 45 points, and within 24 hours, he recorded his second-career triple-double with 23 points, 19 rebounds, and 14 assists in a matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. Across 63 games, he has been averaging a career-best 21.2 points on 53.7 percent shooting, along with 9.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
