Miller, known for making the three-point shot his signature move when it was less common in the NBA, praised Lillard for his clutch performances.
Lillard, now the fourth player to surpass Miller, received additional praise from Miller for being a clutch player. The Bucks’ official account posted Miller’s message, highlighting Lillard’s accomplishment. While Miller wasn’t the first to hit a three-pointer, he pioneered its strategic use in the game.
Reggie Miller to @BleacherReport on Damian Lillard surpassing him for 4th on NBA’s all-time 3-PTs made list (2,561): “Congratulations Dame on moving up the charts. In a separate conversation with influencer “nelsontheprodigy_,” Lillard disclosed his desired starting five, omitting Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Bucks teammates. Lillard’s chosen lineup included himself, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Bam Adebayo. Although Lillard hadn’t played with most of them in the NBA, he had shared the court with Durant and Adebayo during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Speculation arose about the absence of Giannis, possibly due to his current team affiliation or other considerations.
Lillard’s contract extends until 2027, making future collaborations with his preferred lineup a distant possibility. Despite being a top-3 seed in the Eastern Conference, Charles Barkley remains unconvinced about the Bucks’ intimidating presence.
While acknowledging Giannis and Lillard’s talent, Barkley attributes the lack of perceived fear to the team’s perceived shortage of athleticism. The Bucks, despite their star players, are on track for a less impressive record than the previous season, and their playoff performance will ultimately determine if they can defy Barkley’s skepticism.
