Former Twins pitcher Tyler Duffey has shared his recent battle with cancer, which was discovered during a routine Spring Training check-up with the Kansas City Royals. While undergoing his intake physical as a non-roster invitee, Duffey noticed an abnormality on his skin and decided to bring it up to the team doctor. The dermatologist identified cancerous tissue on his left shoulder, which was promptly removed.
Having lost both his parents to cancer, Duffey tearfully expressed gratitude for catching the disease early.
