The suggested trade package is substantial, consisting of New England’s second, third, and fourth-round picks in the 2024 NFL draft. Acquiring A.J. Brown would undoubtedly be a hefty investment, but his status as a true No. 1 receiver, boasting impressive stats of 106 catches and 1,456 yards last season, and a Pro Football Focus grade of 90.0, justifies the proposed price. At 26 years old, Brown is in the prime of his career, and with limited options in the receiver market, the Patriots seem poised for a potentially game-changing move.
Jake Ellenbogen reflected on the proposed deal, acknowledging the high cost but emphasizing the prospect of ushering in a new era of Patriots football with a franchise quarterback, possibly chosen with the No. 3 pick in the draft.
