EXCLUSIVE: Forward Plan Triumphs in Coral Trophy at Kempton and Kalif du Berlais Eyes Aintree After Hat-Trick Victory…

Forward Plan emerged victorious in the Coral Trophy at Kempton Park for trainer Anthony Honeyball. The eight-year-old horse, positioned among the pursuers on the home stretch, overtook Al Dancer, the leader in the three-mile chase.

Jockey Ben Godfrey executed a well-timed surge in the final stretch, guiding the 15-2 contender to a triumph by a margin of one-and-a-quarter lengths.

Expressing his elation, Godfrey stated, “It’s the most significant win of my career. Having horses like this one to compete in such races is what motivates me. I’m thrilled for the owners and Anthony.”

Al Dancer secured the second position as a 28-1 outsider, while the 4-1 favorite Bowtogreatness finished in third place.

In other racing news, trainer Paul Nicholls mentioned that Aintree is under consideration for Kalif du Berlais after the four-year-old completed a hat-trick in the Coral Adonis Juvenile Hurdle.

Jockey Harry Cobden guided Kalif du Berlais to victory, fending off Givemefive after the final hurdle. This win marked Cobden’s 128th victory, strengthening his lead in the Jockeys’ Championships standings.

Nicholls commented on Kalif du Berlais, saying, “He’s shown resilience, and although we need to assess how we rode him, he’s a promising horse for the future. I’m pleased with the performance. Considering his tough race, he may not compete in the Triumph, and Aintree is a potential option if all goes well. Winning three races as a juvenile is impressive for a big horse like him.”

Overall, Forward Plan’s success at Kempton and Kalif du Berlais’ achievements in the Coral Adonis Juvenile Hurdle marked notable moments in the racing world.
