Updates: Florida Panthers Upgrade Video Production Workflow and Activate Veteran Forward for Final Regular Season Stretch…

The Florida Panthers’ video production team has revamped its workflow in response to increased demand for team content, particularly after their successful 2023 Stanley Cup playoff appearance.

The new workflow incorporates EditShare storage systems and management tools to facilitate a smoother and more secure content creation and delivery process for in-house displays, scoreboards, online fan engagement, and the team’s custom app.

In collaboration with 76 Media Systems, now part of Starin Marketing, the team devised a solution centered around the installation of an EditShare 256TB EFS300 storage appliance at the Amerant Bank Arena, the Panthers’ home venue. This ground storage network is seamlessly connected and synchronized with EditShare’s cloud implementation, creating a hybrid on-premise and cloud architecture.

This hybrid approach enhances flexibility by allowing shooting teams on the road to upload content via a VPN, making it instantly accessible for post-production and delivery. Additionally, the hybrid setup adds redundancy, ensuring the security of content.

Key components of this technology include FLOW workflow and asset management, along with FLEX cloud synchronization, contributing to the system’s ease of implementation and user-friendly nature, as highlighted by Dennis Docil, the senior director of content services for the team.

The EditShare EFS300 plays a crucial role during game time, ingesting live content from eight cameras and live coverage from Bally Sports Network. Simultaneously, it feeds content to the scoreboard and various video screens within the arena. This system empowers the video production team to generate engaging content for fans through the team’s website and app, as well as at the Panthers’ retail shop and practice facility.

In other news, the Florida Panthers are poised to activate forward Nick Cousins off injured reserve, a move that brings the team to the 23-man roster limit for their upcoming game against the Washington Capitals. Cousins, recovering from a concussion sustained a month ago, has maintained solid possession and defensive metrics for the Panthers throughout the season, contributing to the team’s success.

Despite being perceived as less of an offensive threat this season, Cousins’ playing style has added to the Panthers’ reputation as a challenging team to face. The activation of Cousins comes at a crucial time, providing the Panthers with a fully healthy lineup for the final stretch of the regular season, especially with William Lockwood still sidelined due to injury.
