The Owner of the New England Patriot Reflects on Former Coach Future in The NFL Future Following Patriots Departure….

Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, has weighed in on Bill Belichick’s future in the NFL following his departure from the team. Belichick, who played a pivotal role in turning the Patriots into a dominant force in the league, chose to step away from his coaching position after 24 years. However, despite his extensive experience and remarkable achievements, Belichick found himself without a coaching job for the upcoming NFL season as all head coaching positions had been filled.

Kraft shared his sentiments during the MusiCares Gala, where he presented Jon Bon Jovi with the Person of the Year Award. He expressed admiration for Belichick’s contributions, stating, “Well, he’s pretty special. We were lucky to have him for a quarter of a century. We only wish him well.”

Belichick’s departure followed a disappointing season for the Patriots, with the team securing only four wins, marking their lowest performance under his tenure and placing them at the bottom of the AFC East. Despite the setback, Kraft emphasized the amicable nature of their parting, acknowledging the valuable lessons he had learned from Belichick over the years.

With the upcoming season approaching, Belichick will find himself without a coaching role in the NFL for the first time since 2000. While speculation arose regarding potential opportunities with teams like the Atlanta Falcons, the appointment ultimately went to Raheem Morris. Other teams, including the Washington Commanders, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Los Angeles Chargers, have also filled their head coaching positions, leaving Belichick and other notable coaches like Mike Vrabel without roles for the upcoming season.

As Belichick contemplates his next move, one possibility is a transition to television commentary, similar to the path taken by legendary coach John Madden after his coaching career concluded. Madden became a renowned color commentator for various networks, showcasing another avenue for Belichick to remain involved in football albeit in a different capacity.
