Breaking: An Insider Reveals Latest Updates on Exploratory Trade Talks Between Bucks and Mavericks with Portis and G. Williams in the Mix…

Stein has reported that the Milwaukee Bucks and the Dallas Mavericks engaged in initial discussions regarding a potential trade involving Bucks’ forward/center Bobby Portis in exchange for Mavericks’ forward Grant Williams.

According to Stein’s latest Substack story, the talks are currently exploratory, and it remains uncertain whether they will progress into more serious negotiations.

Stein highlights that Williams has experienced a disappointing first season with the Mavericks, but the Bucks are intrigued by his defensive versatility, given their emphasis on defense.

While Portis is recognized for his scoring and rebounding abilities, he falls short in the defensive aspect.

Portis, 28, has been a significant contributor off the bench for the Bucks, playing a pivotal role in their 2021 championship victory.

In the current season, he is averaging 12.6 points and 6.9 rebounds in 23.7 minutes over 50 games.

Portis is under contract with the Bucks until the 2025/26 season, earning $11.7 million this season, with the final year being a player option.
