“Run it back” – Texans’ Star QB C.J. Stroud Reveals his Relationship with Veteran and Rookies in Pursuit of Pro Bowl Success in 2024 Season…

Texans’ Pro Bowl Quarterback C.J. Stroud Eager to Repeat Success in 2024

As the Houston Texans gear up for the 2024 season, their primary objective is to replicate or surpass their impressive performance from the previous year.

Despite initially low expectations, the Texans defied odds, securing a spot in the Divisional Round of the playoffs with a 10-7 regular season record.

Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud attributes the team’s success to the trust established between the coaching staff and players. Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Stroud expresses his readiness to “run it back,” particularly with the return of offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik and quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson.

“While we entered knowing it was our first year in everyone’s eyes, we’ve been playing at a high level for a considerable time,” Stroud remarked.

“I’ve built strong relationships with both veterans and rookies. They’re all like brothers to me. It’s been an incredible journey growing with a group of guys who share a passion for football. This year, we aim to run it back and achieve even greater success.”

Stroud exemplifies the foundation set by the Texans for a promising future. Emerging as the No. 2 prospect at his position from Ohio State in the 2023 NFL Draft, Stroud secured his first Pro Bowl honor nine months later. His rookie season stands as one of the best in league history for a first-year quarterback.

Completing the regular season with 4,108 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and five interceptions, Stroud ranked third in passing yards among rookie quarterbacks while boasting a 63.9 percent completion rate.

Stroud’s Pro Bowl selection marked the third for the Texans, joining left tackle Laremy Tunsil and defensive end Will Anderson Jr. He also stands out as the first quarterback to achieve this since Deshaun Watson in 2019 and the inaugural rookie at his position in franchise history.
