Breaking :Chicago Bears Bolster Offensive Coaching Lineup with Hiring of New Professional as Running Backs Coach….

The Chicago Bears are making significant strides in finalizing their offensive coaching staff under the guidance of newly appointed offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. Their latest addition is Chad Morton, a coach with a history of collaboration with Waldron during their shared tenure with the Seattle Seahawks. Morton, who has rapidly ascended the coaching ranks in the professional football arena, is set to take on the role of running backs coach for the Bears, succeeding Omar Young, who temporarily filled the position following the departure of David Walker in the 2023 season.

Chad Morton’s journey in the NFL coaching realm began in 2009 as a coaching administrator with the Green Bay Packers, quickly transitioning to the role of special teams assistant in 2010, a pivotal season that saw the Packers clinch their latest Super Bowl victory. His coaching prowess further blossomed when he joined the Seattle Seahawks in 2014. Initially serving as a coaching assistant for three seasons, Morton earned a well-deserved promotion to full-time running backs coach in 2017. His impact was further recognized in 2022 when he assumed the additional responsibility of running game coordinator alongside his existing role as the running backs coach. Notable players such as Chris Carson and Kenneth Walker III thrived under his tutelage in Seattle.

Morton’s arrival in Chicago is anticipated to bring stability to a coaching position that has witnessed a revolving door of four different coaches—Charles London, Michael Pitre, David Walker, and Omar Young—in the last four years. The hope is that Morton’s experience and expertise will provide the consistency needed for the development of the Bears’ running backs.

The hiring of Chad Morton also suggests a continuation of a committee-based approach in the Bears’ backfield. Despite possessing a backfield already endowed with talent, the team seems inclined to maintain a versatile approach. Speculation arises regarding the potential emergence of Roschon Johnson as the primary ball carrier on all three downs, akin to the Seahawks’ strategy with Zach Charbonnet. There is also the possibility of the Bears exploring additional acquisitions to fortify their running back position under Morton’s guidance.
