Titans Reveals Latest Interview Giants OC and Considers Raiders Interim Coach for Head Coaching Position…

The Titans have concluded their second interview in the head coaching selection process, with Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka participating in a virtual interview on Friday.

Kafka, initially a graduate assistant at Northwestern in 2017, joined the Kansas City Chiefs’ coaching staff under Andy Reid. He progressed to become the quarterbacks coach, working closely with Patrick Mahomes in 2020-21.

Kafka, a former Eagles player, joined the New York Giants as offensive coordinator in 2022 under Brian Daboll. The Titans also interviewed Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan on the same day.

In-person interviews are slated to begin on Jan. 22, but virtual interviews, like the one with Kafka, can take place earlier.

In Raiders news, the impressive performance of interim coach Antonio Pierce, who took over after Josh McDaniels, has garnered attention across the league.

Despite the team’s turnaround, the Raiders are deliberating whether to retain Pierce as the permanent head coach. The Titans, having parted ways with Mike Vrabel, have expressed interest in interviewing Pierce for their head coaching position.

Both Vrabel and Pierce share a background as former NFL linebackers turned coaches known for their ability to connect with and motivate players. While Pierce has support from the Raiders’ locker room and legends, the team is exploring other coaching options.

University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is one such name in consideration, given his ties to the franchise. Pierce has gained recognition on the NFL head coaching radar, and the Titans are closely evaluating his potential candidacy.
