Steelers Boost Practice Squad with Christmas Day Signing of Right Back…

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a Christmas Day roster move by signing Anthony McFarland Jr., a running back and kick returner, to their practice squad.

This comes after McFarland was waived by the team last week as part of various roster adjustments before their game against the Bengals.

Despite being a former fourth-round pick, McFarland struggled to secure a role as the RB3 for the Steelers, with Godwin Igwebuike taking over kick return duties.

McFarland’s previous stints with the Steelers saw him accumulate 146 rushing yards on 42 carries over four seasons.

In the current season, he participated in three regular-season games and returned six kickoffs, with a longest run of 37 yards.

With the signing of McFarland, the Steelers have completed their practice squad roster, consisting of 16 players. The team is set to face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET.
