Jamaican professional footballer sends a stunning message to Walsall amid season’s expectation…

Jamille Matt is encouraging Walsall to build on their recent successes by using their consecutive victories as a springboard for the season ahead. Following their 1-0 triumph over Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, Walsall achieved back-to-back wins in League Two for the first time since September, securing three consecutive victories in all competitions.

Despite facing challenges such as injuries, Matt emphasizes the importance of unity behind the scenes and maintaining a positive attitude.

Looking ahead to upcoming matches against Accrington Stanley, Crewe Alexandra, Wrexham, and Grimsby Town during the festive period, Matt stresses the need to sustain the winning momentum.

The striker, who scored in both the 1-0 win over Alfreton Town and the decisive goal against Tranmere, acknowledges the evolving goal distribution within the team.

While Freddie Draper and Isaac Hutchinson accounted for 59% of Walsall’s 22 goals in the first 14 matches, Matt observes that other players are now contributing goals, a capability he always believed the squad possessed.

Highlighting the team’s depth, Matt mentions Oisin McEntee’s consistent performance throughout the season and praises the contributions of young talents like Freddie, DJ, and Douglas James-Taylor. Despite personal frustrations about game time, Matt emphasizes the importance of perspective and encourages mutual support among the players to foster a successful team.
