Piatak Family’s Hands-On Commitment As They Reveal Plans To Cope With The Challenges of Club Ownership and Cultural Transformation…

CLUB: The Piatak Family’s commitment to actively participating in the club’s operations is evident, as Chairman Tom Piatak discusses their plans to divide their time between Brunton Park and the USA.

The level of involvement from a new ownership group is often a crucial aspect after a takeover. The Piatak Family, however, is unequivocal about their deep engagement in the club’s management. Their upcoming return to Brunton Park for the Northampton match on December 14 and subsequent departure to the US on January 2 highlights their hands-on approach.

Tom Piatak Sr. acknowledges the challenge of managing the club on a day-to-day basis, emphasizing the importance of shaping its culture. The family is concerned that without active involvement, the organization might develop a culture inconsistent with their vision. Recognizing this challenge, they are deliberating on the necessary duration of their presence in Carlisle.

Despite the logistical challenges of extensive travel, the Piatak Family expresses their commitment to the community in Carlisle. Spending more time in the area has strengthened their connection to the people and deepened their commitment to the club. While acknowledging the demanding nature of the situation, they view it as a fulfilling experience, envisioning the positive transformations the club will undergo in the next decade.

The family’s current plan involves a comprehensive assessment of the organizational structure, delineation of responsibilities, and understanding club requirements. They intend to formulate a strategic plan, ensuring sufficient resources are in place to achieve their goals. Monitoring progress through Zoom calls is acknowledged as a challenge, prompting the commitment to be physically present and available.

If the execution of their vision falls short, the Piatak Family is prepared to return promptly. They emphasize a willingness to spend extended periods in the organization, even up to 60 or 90 days, to ensure desired results. Drawing from past experiences, where they were away for 45 days and the club ran smoothly, they express confidence in the current management team’s ability to sustain operations.

Tom Piatak Sr. praises the existing team’s dedication and acknowledges potential differences in expectations. Bridging this gap is a challenge they are actively addressing, with a belief that the collective efforts will lead to success in navigating the complexities of the club’s future.
