Tottenham faces a risky situation as a potential £26 million transfer proposal could disrupt Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

If Tottenham allows Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to leave, especially with strong interest from Juventus, they risk leaving Postecoglou short in January.

Under Postecoglou’s management, Spurs have had a strong start to the season, and fans are optimistic about the club’s direction.

Their recent victory against Liverpool has propelled them to second place in the table, just one point behind Manchester City.

While it’s still early in the season with only seven games played, there are promising signs that Tottenham could contend for a spot in the Champions League.

At the beginning of the season, Tottenham’s primary goal was to return to Champions League football after missing out on European competitions. January is when the Premier League’s top four starts to take shape, so Tottenham aims to remain in contention, especially since they will lose two key midfielders, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr, to the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled from January 13 to February 11, which means both players will be unavailable for crucial matches, including the one against Manchester United. This situation will require Postecoglou to make use of his squad.

To address the potential midfield shortage, Hojbjerg could step in, along with options like Rodrigo Bentancur or Oliver Skipp to replace Bissouma and Sarr. However, there’s speculation that Tottenham might consider selling Hojbjerg for £26 million.

Juventus is reportedly interested in signing him, especially with Paul Pogba facing provisional suspension due to a banned substance test. Juventus officials are apparently open to meeting Hojbjerg’s salary demands.
