As the New Orleans Saints prepare to face the Denver Broncos in Week 7 of the 2024 NFL Season, the Saints’ injury report presents some concerning news that could favor the Broncos. While neither team practiced on Monday, both released estimated injury reports that indicate potential player availability.
According to the Saints’ report from Monday, they are dealing with significant injury issues. Six key players would have missed practice, while another eight would have been limited participants. This situation poses a considerable challenge for the Saints and gives the Broncos a potential advantage.
In contrast, the Broncos are coping with their own injury situation, as they lost cornerback Patrick Surtain II on the first play of their last game. He is currently in concussion protocol and may not be cleared in time for the matchup.
On a positive note for Denver, they expect to welcome back offensive lineman Alex Palczewski, which could help strengthen their line. The Broncos struggled in Week 6, forcing quarterback Bo Nix to frequently make plays outside the pocket. Although Nix hasn’t excelled when pressured, improved protection should aid his performance.
The Broncos hold a 3-3 record this season and have a solid chance to improve to 4-3 after this week. If that happens, veteran Levi Wallace is expected to step in, providing a reliable option for the secondary. Despite some injuries, the Broncos have managed to stay relatively healthy overall, with players like Mike McGlinchey and Baron Browning potentially returning soon.
After winning three consecutive games, the Broncos’ recent loss wasn’t surprising given their young quarterback is still finding his footing on offense. However, they should secure a win in Week 7, which would elevate their record to 4-3 and give them a crucial two-day rest before facing the Carolina Panthers at home in Week 8.
