“This is my purpose” – Portsmouth Star Delighted to Fulfill Expectations…

Portsmouth’s left-back, Jack Sparkes, has emphasized that his ability to provide assists played a pivotal role in securing his spot with the League One team.

Sparkes made a permanent transfer from Exeter City to John Mousinho’s squad during the summer and has quickly established himself as a crucial defensive figure at Fratton Park.

In the 15 league matches he has participated in so far for Pompey, he has managed to deliver four assists. He has received accolades for his aptitude in delivering crosses, whether during open play or from set-pieces, and he emphasized that this skill was a primary factor in his acquisition by Portsmouth.

Sparkes also mentioned his dedication to making forward runs as often as possible, believing that his overall performance consistently earns him a spot on the team.

“I believe I was brought in to fulfill this specific role of crossing the ball and contributing to the team’s offensive efforts,” Sparkes stated in an interview with Pompey’s in-house media. “I’ve endeavored to do that to the best of my ability, be it through deep crosses, set-piece deliveries, or making forward runs whenever possible.

While it undoubtedly benefits the team, what truly matters is consistently delivering strong performances because, in the end, that’s what ensures my selection.”

Portsmouth, currently leading the League One table, has received praise for their fluid style of play, and Sparkes aspires to make even more contributions to their ongoing success.
