Exciting News: White Sox Win to Avoid Loss Record and Critics, but Gloom Still Lingers at …

Loyal White Sox fans showed their unwavering support at Guaranteed Rate Field, even as a somber mood hung over the stadium.

“We’ve stuck by this team—through wins and losses,” said Chris Novak. “I was there for Game 2 of the 2005 World Series and witnessed history. Today, we thought we might see the opposite end of that.”

“We came for history—the wrong kind of history,” echoed Karen Novak, reflecting on the White Sox’s challenging season.

Not every fan was resigned to the team’s struggles, though. Foster Ward remained hopeful. “Not me,” he said. “I want them to win.”

A nearly hour-long rain delay kept the tarp on the field, but that didn’t bother Robert Sandoval, who sat in the rain with a cardboard drink holder as a makeshift hat. “I hope they rally for the rest of the season, but we’ll see,” he remarked.

To ease the frustration of the season, the White Sox offered $5 beers and hot dogs—a small gesture appreciated by fans, with some wishing it were a regular occurrence.

White Sox General Manager Chris Getz acknowledged the disappointment felt by the fanbase. “It’s been a long season for the fans,” Getz admitted. “It’s our responsibility to get back on track so they can once again be proud to be White Sox fans.”

As the game ended and fans made their way out, many voiced their frustrations, with some calling for team owner Jerry Reinsdorf to sell the franchise.

The White Sox have five games left in the season, and if they want to avoid setting a new loss record, they’ll need to win every one of them.
