Walsall Head Coach isssues a stunning to the fans…

Walsall Head Coach Mat Sadler has expressed his admiration for the support of Saddlers fans in helping his team persevere during challenging moments.

He felt frustrated that they couldn’t secure a victory for the fans to celebrate after a narrow defeat to Mansfield Town last Saturday.

The Saddlers initially fell behind 16 minutes into the game but managed to level the score early in the second half through Ryan Stirk. Unfortunately, Jordan Bowery scored the decisive goal, securing three points for the Stags.

Sadler was pleased with how his players rallied after falling behind, and he specifically commended the supporters for providing an extra boost to the team after the setback. He described the fans as “brilliant” and “top-notch,” emphasizing their unwavering support throughout the season.

Despite the loss, Sadler remains optimistic, hoping that his team can learn from certain aspects of the Mansfield defeat, particularly when the hosts gained the upper hand after their opening goal. He acknowledged that the first goal resulted from a set play, shifting the momentum in favor of the opposition. However, Sadler believes it’s a learning experience for the team and expressed his determination to provide the fans with more special moments in the future.

Although Walsall had several key players sidelined due to injury and named only six substitutes on the bench, Sadler is determined not to use the injury list as an excuse. He mentioned that they have a number of talented players not in the starting lineup, emphasizing that they won’t feel sorry for themselves. Sadler acknowledged that they faced a formidable opponent in Mansfield and expressed their desire to recover and return to full strength as soon as possible.
