Aston Martin Teases Interest in Max Verstappen: ‘The Door is Always Open’**

Aston Martin is hinting at their interest in veteran F1 driver Max Verstappen, fueling speculation about a potential move. The team’s boss, Mike Krack, recently stated that “the door is always open” for Verstappen, following the high-profile signing of Red Bull’s technical mastermind Adrian Newey, who will join Aston Martin in 2025.

This move has heightened rumors that Lawrence Stroll, owner of Aston Martin, may make a bid for the three-time world champion. With Aston Martin set to team up with Honda in 2026, the timing seems ideal for a major coup like Verstappen.

When asked about the possibility of Verstappen joining during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Krack left the door wide open. “The door for Max Verstappen is always open, for everything,” Krack said.

However, it is unlikely Aston Martin will be able to sign Verstappen before 2027, as Fernando Alonso is under contract with the team until the end of 2026. Additionally, Lance Stroll’s position remains secure due to his father’s ownership of the team.

Krack believes the arrival of Newey will have an immediate impact on Aston Martin’s credibility. “It will make a difference for everybody, starting with the staff,” Krack explained. “Securing Adrian Newey is proof that Lawrence Stroll’s vision is more than just words—it’s action. This signing shows we’re no longer underdogs. We can now approach our goals with confidence.”

He emphasized that Newey’s addition will make Aston Martin more attractive across the board. “We’ll be more appealing in every area, from attracting top drivers to other technical talent. This move proves our project is on track to achieve its goals, and it could even draw top young talent, like students, eager to learn from the best.”

Krack’s comments signal Aston Martin’s growing ambitions, making the team a major player in the F1 landscape for the coming years.
