 Former Green Bay Packers kicker Greg Joseph has found a new home within the NFC North division. After being released by the Packers prior to the 2024 NFL season, Joseph has signed with the Detroit Lions to join their practice squad.

Joseph, a 7-year veteran, brings a wealth of experience to the Lions. He previously spent three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and was most recently with the Packers.

While the Lions have Jake Bates solidified as their starting kicker, Joseph’s addition provides valuable insurance and mentorship. Bates, an undrafted free agent, impressed in the team’s Week 1 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, kicking a game-tying field goal.

Joseph was originally brought in by the Packers as competition for Anders Carlson but was ultimately released along with Carlson. The 30-year-old kicker has also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans throughout his NFL caree
