News Update: Cam Jordan’s Message to Saints Fans Ahead of Sean Payton’s Return to the …

The New Orleans Saints are gearing up to host Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos on October 17, a game set to be one of the most eagerly anticipated matchups at the Caesars Superdome in recent memory.

Sean Payton, who stepped down as the Saints’ head coach in January 2022, left behind an impressive legacy, including a Super Bowl XLIV victory.

Cameron Jordan, who played under Payton for 11 of his 13 seasons with the Saints, has a strong opinion about the reception Payton should receive when he returns to the dome in October. Despite their long history together, the veteran defensive end doesn’t think the former coach should be welcomed with open arms.

“I hope he gets booed when he comes in,” Jordan shared recently on the Up & Adams Show. “I hope he gets booed, like, ‘How dare you go somewhere else.’ If they boo, I’m going to boo with them. Because he’s going to feed off it. There’s nothing you can do to Sean Payton to affect Sean Payton.”

When asked if he really believes Payton will get booed, Jordan was doubtful, acknowledging the coach’s legacy. “No, because he won a championship here,” he said.

Looking ahead to the matchup, Jordan expects the Saints to be fully motivated for the showdown. “I definitely have it marked because I know he has it marked,” Jordan said. “He’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m trying to get over these boys.’ So, we have to be able to overcome.”
