Las Vegas, NV – A Spring Valley High School football player is recovering from burns sustained during a recent practice session. The incident has prompted an investigation by the Clark County School District (CCSD).

According to a family member, the 16-year-old student was forced to crawl on the artificial turf in scorching 104-degree weather as punishment for forgetting knee pads. The extreme conditions resulted in severe blisters, requiring medical attention at an urgent care facility.

In response to the allegations, CCSD issued a statement acknowledging the incident and assuring that the matter is being taken seriously. The district is currently investigating to determine if any policies or procedures were violated.

As a precautionary measure, all football practices have been canceled on Tuesday, August 13, due to staffing shortages. The school administration has promised to provide updates on when practice can resume.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of student-athletes and the conditions under which they are practicing.
