Roxanne Perez, currently focused on her career in WWE, has expressed a strong desire to see former WWE star AJ Lee return to the ring. In a recent interview with “The PWI Podcast,” Perez discussed her efforts to encourage Lee’s comeback. Perez revealed that she has been working with CM Punk, Lee’s real-life husband, to persuade her to return to WWE. According to Perez, Punk has also been attempting to convince Lee to make a return, though she has yet to make a decision. Perez hopes that one day Lee will return to WWE and share a match with her.
AJ Lee, a former WWE Divas Champion, retired from wrestling in April 2015 due to severe cervical spinal damage. Her final match occurred on the March 30, 2015 episode of “WWE Raw,” where she and her team, including Naomi and Paige, were defeated by Natalya and The Bella Twins. Since her retirement, Lee has focused on writing, authoring a memoir titled “Crazy Is My Superpower” in 2017. She also made a brief return to the wrestling world from 2021 to 2023 as an executive producer and commentator for WOW (Women of Wrestling).
Roxanne Perez, who joined WWE in 2022, is the current WWE NXT Women’s Champion. Recently, she defended her title successfully against Thea Hail during the first night of the 2024 “WWE NXT” Great American Bash.
