Arizona Football: An In-Depth Preview of the Wildcats’ Linebackers for the 2024 Training Camp
As the 2024 preseason training camp under new head coach Brent Brennan approaches, Arizona football is gearing up for a crucial month of practice leading up to their season opener against New Mexico on August 31. The Wildcats’ linebacker corps consists of 12 players, including nine on scholarship and three walk-ons. The team has a blend of experienced veterans and promising newcomers, making for an intriguing position group as camp gets underway.
Projected Starters:
1. Jacob Manu (Junior): Manu is poised to be a cornerstone of the Wildcats’ defense. Last season, he led the Pac-12 in tackles with a total of 116, a figure that would have placed him second in the Big 12. His impressive stats also include 9.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and an interception. Manu’s journey to Arizona was unconventional; he had no other FBS offers and was recruited alongside high school teammates Noah Fifita, Tetairoa McMillan, and Keyan Burnett.
