Steph Curry is participating in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics as a member of Team USA, which consists of 592 athletes. With around 11,000 athletes from various countries competing this summer, it’s impossible for Curry to meet each one individually. However, he has found a meaningful way to connect by exchanging Olympic pins with fellow competitors.
This Olympics is Curry’s first, and he is fully immersed in the experience. In addition to pin trading, Curry has been engaging with athletes from around the world and developing camaraderie with his Team USA basketball colleagues. This is notable given that his current teammates, while teammates in the Olympics, are his rivals in the NBA.
The Games officially commenced on Friday, and Curry and his teammates will face Serbia in their first Group C match on Sunday. During Team USA’s five exhibition games, Curry averaged 12.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in about 21.8 minutes per game.
As the competition progresses, Curry aims to savor his time in Paris and contribute to Team USA’s pursuit of a gold medal, all while adapting to the Olympic setting and focusing on the team’s success rather than solely replicating his impressive NBA statistics.
