BREAKING: NC State Finally Completes a Blockbuster Deal on 3-Star Cornerback From South Carolina…

BREAKING: Talented CB Cam Strong Commits to NC State

The Wolfpack secures South Carolina cornerback Cam Strong.

Cam Strong, a cornerback from Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hanna, committed to NC State on Friday.

The Wolfpack extended an offer to Strong last fall, making him a top target. He selected NC State over more than ten scholarship offers, including finalists Georgia Tech and West Virginia.

Though NC State didn’t extend an offer until October 2023, they had been recruiting Strong for 18 months. Cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell led the recruitment efforts for the South Carolina defensive back from the beginning.

“Coach Mitchell has been consistent in recruiting me, always checking in,” said the 6-foot, 166-pound Strong last month. “He genuinely cares about my family and me, showing that I’m a priority. Our relationship goes beyond football.

“Recently, Coach Mitchell has been emphasizing the official visit and how excited they are for me to return. I’ve been there three times already, so I’m familiar with the place.”

Strong, a high three-star prospect ranked No. 60 cornerback in the country and the 12th best in South Carolina according to the 247Sports Composite, aimed to commit in July.

NC State head coach Dave Doeren also played a crucial role in Strong’s recruitment, making it clear he wanted to coach Strong at State.

“Hearing from the head coach that I’m a priority means a lot,” Strong said earlier this year. “His visit to my school also meant a lot.”

Strong is ranked as the No. 61 cornerback in the nation and the 13th best player in South Carolina according to the 247Sports Composite.
