Stars Provide Injury Updates on Key Players
Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill has shared updates on the injuries of several players, including Roope Hintz, Tyler Seguin, Chris Tanev, and Jani Hakanpaa.
Tyler Seguin, 32, played through lower body pain during the playoffs but will not require surgery. Despite his injuries, Seguin managed to score 5 goals and 8 assists, totaling 13 points in 19 playoff games.
Tyler Seguin played through some lower body pain, but doesn't need any procedures.
"He needs the time off, but he’ll be fine," Nill said.
Nill added: "Were guys banged up? Yes. But nothing major that has to be taken care of, so we were very fortunate." https://t.co/05g5UeXgkR

Chris Tanev, 34, suffered a tendon injury during Game 5 against the Edmonton Oilers in the third round of the playoffs. Although he missed part of Game 5, he returned to play in Game 6. Tanev recorded only 2 assists in 19 games but was crucial in defensive roles, particularly against top players like Jack Eichel and Nathan MacKinnon in the earlier rounds.

Jani Hakanpaa, 32, underwent an arthroscopic knee procedure that sidelined him for the playoffs. Despite being listed as day-to-day since March, he did not return to play. No further procedures are necessary for Hakanpaa.
Roope Hintz, 27, played with a broken finger throughout the playoffs but will also avoid surgery. The injury affected his performance, limiting him to 2 goals and 6 assists in 15 games, and causing him to miss parts of the second and third rounds.
These injuries significantly impacted the Stars’ performance, contributing to their third-round exit against the Oilers. While Tanev and Hakanpaa will enter free agency, only the injuries to Hintz and Seguin pose long-term concerns for the team.
