BREAKING: Houston Rockets Confirms Draft Status on Top NBA Stars…

Four NBA Draft Prospects the Rockets Could Consider in 2024

The 2024 NBA Draft boasts numerous intriguing prospects. As the draft approaches, attention is shifting to several players who could catch the Houston Rockets’ eye. Previously, Reed Sheppard, Donovan Clingan, Matas Buzelis, and Dalton Knecht were highlighted. Now, with the draft drawing closer, let’s look at four other trending prospects.

Houston, holding the No. 3 pick, is expected to use it to enhance their promising young core rather than trade it. After a 41-41 season, just missing the NBA Play-In Tournament, a major overhaul isn’t necessary. This offseason could be crucial for Houston’s return to the NBA Playoffs.

The NBA Draft is on June 26. Here’s a look at four trending prospects:

Nikola Topić, G, Serbia

Despite suffering a partially torn ACL, Nikola Topić remains highly regarded. At 6-foot-6, he’s a skilled guard who can run an offense, handle ball pressure, and create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. While his jump shooting and defensive abilities are concerns, his overall skill set makes him a compelling prospect.

Stephon Castle, G, UConn

With Dan Hurley remaining at UConn, focus shifts to Stephon Castle, the point guard instrumental in the Huskies’ recent national title. Castle, also 6-foot-6, struggled with three-point shooting as a freshman but showcased his shooting improvement at the NBA Draft Combine. Known for handling tough defensive assignments, Castle performed well under pressure, including notable performances in the Final Four and championship game.

Rob Dillingham, G, Kentucky

Rob Dillingham’s flashy handle and explosive athleticism make him stand out. While he led Kentucky in turnovers and occasionally over-dribbled, his game is better suited to the NBA. Despite needing to improve his decision-making and defense, Dillingham is expected to score prolifically at the pro level.

Zaccharie Risacher, F, France

Although Houston recently drafted Jabari Smith, Zaccharie Risacher presents an interesting option. At 6-foot-9, Risacher is a defensive asset with an improving three-point shot, though he struggles with free throws and paint play. If Houston sees Smith as a long-term piece, trading him for a younger, raw version like Risacher could be considered, but this seems unlikely.

This offseason will reveal how Houston plans to leverage their draft pick to strengthen their team.
