Report: Stoke City Coach Engages in Serious Contract Talks with 21 Year-old Young Midfielder…

Stoke City is currently engaged in negotiations with promising young midfielder Jack Griffiths regarding a potential contract extension, according to a report from StokeOnTrentLive.

The club is keen on securing Griffiths for an extended period, especially as they gear up for another season in the Championship, having finished 17th in the previous campaign.

Griffiths, who is 18 years old, is nearing the end of his current contract with the club, and whether he stays at the Bet365 Stadium remains uncertain as he weighs his options.

The discussions between Griffiths and Stoke City are being overseen by Steven Schumacher’s team, who have recently welcomed Lee Darnbrough, formerly of Hull City, as their head of recruitment.

Griffiths has been with Stoke City since the start of his career, progressing through their youth system and showcasing his versatility as both a central and attacking midfielder.

Having transitioned from the Under-18s to the Under-21s, Griffiths has amassed 34 appearances for the development squad, contributing eight goals and five assists.

Stoke City is hopeful of securing Griffiths’ commitment for the upcoming season, aiming to eventually integrate him into the first-team setup.

The club has already parted ways with several players during the summer transfer window, including Tom Edwards, D’Margio Wright-Philips, and Tyrese Campbell, among others.

While some players have been offered contract extensions, including Matthew Baker and David Okagbue, Stoke City’s focus remains on securing Griffiths’ future with the club.
