UNC Recruiting: Cameron Boozer Evaluates His Potential College Choices at EYBL Session 4…

The high school basketball sensation Cameron Boozer has been discussing his college options, including UNC and Duke, during the fourth session of the EYBL. Though he’s a fan of country music, it’s uncertain if he’ll follow in his father Carlos Boozer’s footsteps to Duke, or carve his own path.

UNC and Duke’s recruiting rivalry often features intriguing crossover stories, like Caleb Love growing up a Duke fan. This time, it’s Cameron and his twin brother Cayden, whose father played for Duke, being heavily recruited by UNC’s Hubert Davis for 2025.

After leading Nightrydas Elite to victory over the Florida Rebels at the EYBL, Cameron shared his thoughts with Zagsblog about the teams recruiting him. He praised UNC’s intense play, strong defense, and winning tradition, adding, “Hubert Davis is a great guy. He really gets his players to get after it, compete every night.”

Similarly, Duke is vying for his commitment. Cameron acknowledged Duke’s storied history and impressive performance, saying, “Duke is obviously a great school, one of the most winningest schools in college basketball. Just the way they get at it and make deep runs each year.”

Cameron’s insights show he’s thoroughly considering both programs. While his comments don’t reveal his leanings, they indicate that UNC is a serious contender. The recruitment of a star player’s son often comes with unpredictability, making this a compelling story until Cameron and Cayden announce their decisions.

Cameron Boozer, a 6’9 power forward from Columbus High School in Miami, FL, is ranked as the top power forward and the second-best overall player in the nation by the 247Sports composite. Besides Duke and UNC, he has offers from Miami, Kentucky, Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, and Michigan.

Currently, there are no clear signs of when Cameron will announce his commitment. However, Ball Durham suggests Miami might be the frontrunner due to his local ties, their strong NIL program, and coach Jim Larranaga’s reputation. Hubert Davis will need to mount a strong campaign to secure both Cameron and Cayden for UNC, but the competition will be tough.
