Breaking: LaMelo Ball sued for seriously injuring a child…

A family in Charlotte is suing LaMelo Ball, a player for the Charlotte Hornets, for seriously injuring their child. The incident occurred in October 2023 when Ball allegedly drove over the child’s foot at a Hornets event. The child, Angell, who was 11 years old at the time, was seeking an autograph from Ball. According to the lawsuit filed by the child’s mother, Angell suddenly fell to the ground after Ball drove off without signing anything.

The impact of Ball’s vehicle broke Angell’s foot, leading to months of recovery. The family initially sought compensation for medical bills through Ball’s insurance company. However, their lawyer, Cameron DeBrun, explained that the police report from the scene lacked crucial information, complicating the claim process.

The lawsuit also targets the Charlotte Hornets organization, accusing them of inadequate security measures to protect fans during such events. DeBrun emphasized that the family’s decision to sue was not motivated by Ball’s wealth but by a desire for healing and justice. He pointed out that the family would have pursued legal action much earlier if their intentions were purely financial.

As of now, neither LaMelo Ball nor the Charlotte Hornets have commented on the lawsuit or the incident.
