REPORT: Colorado Rockies Clinch Sweep Against Texas Rangers with Stellar Pitching and Well-Timed Hits…

Blach delivered a strong performance on the mound, and Tovar’s home run powered the Colorado Rockies to a 3-1 win over the Texas Rangers.

In his second start of the season, Blach, a former reliever, impressed with five solid innings. The victory completed a three-game sweep of the reigning World Series champions.

The Rangers, who had previously avoided being swept this season, struggled offensively throughout the series. They hit into three double plays and faced strong defensive plays from Rockies’ players like Ryan McMahon and Brenton Doyle, who made a crucial catch at the center field wall.

Doyle contributed to the Rockies’ offense as well, drawing a bases-loaded walk in the eighth inning to secure the final run. Overall, the Rangers scored just one run in three games, with the Rockies outscoring them 15-6.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy acknowledged his team’s offensive challenges, noting that some players weren’t performing at their usual level. He praised the Rockies’ defense for making key plays throughout the series.

For the Rockies, the sweep marked their fourth consecutive win, their longest streak of the season. It was their first sweep since May 2-4, 2023, against Milwaukee, a highlight in an otherwise difficult 2023 season where they suffered 103 losses.
