The Bruins are banking on Charlie McAvoy to step up his game significantly if they want to stand a chance against the Panthers. Despite being recognized as one of the NHL’s top 10 defensemen in recent years, McAvoy’s performance in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs has fallen far short of expectations.
As the team’s primary defenseman, McAvoy’s responsibilities are immense, playing hefty minutes and being a pivotal force in all areas of the ice. However, his consistency has been lacking, and the Bruins have often found themselves outplayed when he’s on the ice during even-strength situations.
