Breaking: A prominent England rugby player is poised to sit out the upcoming series against the All Blacks…

Leicester’s forward Ollie Chessum is set to miss England’s upcoming tour of Japan and New Zealand due to a season-ending injury, as confirmed by Leicester on Thursday. Chessum, known for his versatility in playing as a lock or in the back row, will sit out the remaining two rounds of the English Premiership following surgery for an undisclosed injury.

His absence comes after his last game in Leicester’s recent 19-21 defeat against Bristol at home, where despite completing the match, it was determined that he required surgery afterward.

While Leicester anticipates Chessum’s return for the start of the next season in September, they will have to navigate their European Champions Cup qualification efforts without the contributions of the talented 23-year-old.

Having been a consistent presence in England’s pack throughout the Six Nations, Chessum has earned 23 caps, primarily in the second row. However, he will be sidelined as England prepares to face Japan in Tokyo on June 22, followed by Tests against the All Blacks in Dunedin on July 6 and at Auckland’s Eden Park a week later.
