All Blacks’ 27 Year-old Fullback Finally Breaks Silence Amid Speculations on Rugby Future and All Blacks Aspirations…

Joey Manu has addressed speculations regarding his potential return to the Sydney Roosters following the completion of his contract with Toyota Verblitz in Japan.

While expressing his aspiration to play for the All Blacks, he clarified that his focus is currently on rugby union, emphasizing his intention to immerse himself in the upcoming season.

However, Manu refrained from definitively stating his return to rugby league, indicating a willingness to explore his options once he begins playing rugby union in Japan.

Regarding his desire to represent the All Blacks, Manu acknowledged it as a significant aspiration for any New Zealand player but acknowledged the challenges posed by the eligibility rules, which require players to be based in New Zealand to qualify for selection.

When questioned about whether his move to Japan was a strategic move to attract interest from Super Rugby Pacific clubs, Manu dismissed such notions, emphasizing his primary goal of rediscovering the game and enjoying a new experience.

He cited the opportunity to learn from esteemed coaches like Ian Foster, Steve Hansen, and fellow player Aaron Smith as driving factors behind his decision to venture into Japanese rugby.
