In a monumental gesture of loyalty and commitment to the franchise that defined his career, Hall of Famer and Broncos legend John Elway has officially donated a staggering $800 million to the Denver Broncos — marking one of the most generous personal contributions in professional sports history.
The donation will go directly toward the construction of a cutting-edge underground expansion beneath Empower Field at Mile High, a project designed to revolutionize the team’s training, rehabilitation, and fan experience infrastructure.
“This is about giving back to the organization and the city that gave me everything,” Elway said in an emotional press conference Monday morning. “The Broncos are part of my soul, and I want to make sure the next generation of players and fans experience the very best.”

Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with parts of the project ready by the 2027 season. A statue of Elway will also be unveiled at the entrance to the new underground hall, celebrating his unmatched impact on the organization.
