Auburn University has made a significant impact on the recruiting trail by securing a commitment from four-star quarterback Deuce Knight, who has flipped his pledge from Notre Dame to join the Tigers. Knight, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound dual-threat quarterback from George County High School in Lucedale, Mississippi, is ranked as the No. 2 dual-threat passer in the 2025 recruiting cycle by ESPN.
Initially committed to Notre Dame since September 2023, Knight’s decision to switch to Auburn comes after multiple visits to the campus over the summer and during the early weeks of the regular season. His commitment bolsters Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class, which was already ranked No. 4 nationally by ESPN prior to his addition.
Knight’s athleticism is noteworthy; he completed 53.2% of his passes for 2,047 yards and 17 touchdowns last season, while also rushing for 494 yards and 11 scores. His combination of size, speed, and arm strength makes him a valuable asset for Auburn’s future offensive plans.
This commitment is a testament to Coach Hugh Freeze’s recruiting efforts and vision for the program. Knight’s decision reflects a belief in Auburn’s potential and the opportunity to make a significant impact in the Southeastern Conference.
With Knight’s addition, Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the nation’s best, positioning the Tigers for future success on the field.
