Breaking News: Vegas At The Top As They Set A New, Mind-blowing Record…

Adin Hill stopped 38 shots, and Jack Eichel and Tomas Hertl each scored power-play goals to lead the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars on Friday night in Las Vegas. The win marked Vegas’ third consecutive victory.

Shea Theodore contributed two assists, while Nicolas Roy also scored for the Golden Knights, who lead the Pacific Division with an 11-3-0 home record. Hill’s season record improved to 12-4-2, including 10-2-2 in his last 14 starts.

Mason Marchment and Mavrik Bourque scored for Dallas, who dropped their second straight game, finishing their western road trip with a 1-2-0 record. Jake Oettinger made 25 saves in the loss, while the Stars struggled with discipline, committing six minor penalties, including a double minor.

Dallas thought they had taken a 1-0 lead at 2:40 of the first period when Jason Robertson put a puck past Hill’s glove and inside the right post. However, Vegas successfully challenged the play for goalie interference, and the goal was overturned.

The Golden Knights took the lead at 15:23 of the first period when Hertl scored 10 seconds into a five-on-three power play. Mark Stone, making his first appearance since a lower-body injury on November 6, assisted on the goal, passing from the goal line to Hertl in the low slot. Hertl then fired a wrist shot into the top right corner.

Dallas responded in the second period, tying the game 1-1 at 6:39 when Bourque tapped in a loose puck past Hill’s left skate for his second goal of the season.

After Jamie Benn received a double minor for high-sticking Nicolas Hague, the Golden Knights regained the lead on a power-play goal by Eichel. He scored on a one-timer off a pass from Theodore at 15:40 from the bottom of the left circle.

Roy added another goal for Vegas just 68 seconds later, extending the lead to 3-1 with a wrist shot from the left circle that went past Oettinger’s blocker side and hit the near post.

With 3:17 left in the game, Dallas pulled Oettinger for an extra attacker. Marchment scored on a rebound from a Wyatt Johnston deflection to pull the Stars within 3-2 with 2:34 remaining.

Dallas pushed hard in the final minute to equalize, but Hill made four crucial saves to preserve the win for Vegas.
