Tigers Make Bold Moves On and Off the Field: Voting, Big Plays, and the ‘Tush Push

Ah, a well-timed break indeed. Coach Kelly mentioned that during their off week, the Tigers would seize the chance to register to vote and complete absentee ballots for the upcoming presidential election. They’ve already cast another important vote—one of confidence in themselves.

That confidence was on full display from the very first play, when Garrett Nussmeier fired a pass to freshman running back Caden Durham in the right flat. Durham took the pass and bolted 71 yards to the end zone, leaving everyone stunned—perhaps even the Tigers themselves. Unfortunately, Durham later left the game after getting his foot rolled up, missing the second half. Before that, he nearly scored again, falling just 1 yard short of a touchdown on an 87-yard run. He then contributed to LSU’s next scoring drive by helping Nussmeier punch in a 1-yard touchdown with a well-executed “tush push.”

Yes, Virginia, the LSU Tigers have their own version of the “tush push.”
