Done Deal: Miami Heats Official Sign a Booster Contract to Secure Another Prominent Veteran Foward to Strengthen Roster…

As NBA teams finalize their rosters ahead of training camp, the Miami Heat have made a late addition to their lineup. While the Heat’s offseason moves have been relatively quiet, the latest signing adds depth to the roster. Free agent forward Nassir Little has agreed to a one-year deal with Miami, as reported by Chris Haynes on X (formerly Twitter).

Little, who spent last season with the Phoenix Suns, is not expected to be a game-changer but could play a significant role in the Heat’s rotation. Known for their ability to maximize players’ potential, the Heat may find value in Little’s versatility. Last season, Little made just two starts with the Suns, averaging 10.2 minutes per game. He joined Phoenix as part of the three-team trade that sent Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Before his time with the Suns, Little spent four seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, who selected him 25th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. His best season came in 2021-22, where he made 23 starts, averaging 9.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 25.9 minutes per game. During that time, he shot 46% from the field and 33.1% from beyond the arc.

While Little’s signing may not generate a lot of excitement among Heat fans, he could still serve as a reliable rotational player, particularly given the Heat’s track record of developing talent.
