Chicago White Sox Owner Jerr Reinsdorf Makes Shocking U-Turn to Express Disappointment and Discontent Amid Series of Losses…

In a surprising shift, Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf, known for his measured approach, has publicly expressed deep disappointment with the team’s performance after a string of painful losses. Despite praising the professionalism of his players and staff, Reinsdorf didn’t shy away from acknowledging the frustrations of what has become one of the worst seasons in franchise history.

“Everyone in the organization is unhappy,” Reinsdorf admitted, pointing out the difficult road ahead to rebuild. His comments mark a notable departure from his usual tone, as he acknowledged the gravity of the situation and the toll it’s taken on fans and the team alike.

Though Reinsdorf remains hopeful for future success, his candid frustration signals a renewed commitment to making changes.

“This isn’t just another bad season—it’s a wake-up call for the White Sox.”

In a statement issued Wednesday, Reinsdorf described the season as “very painful,” as the White Sox near a record-breaking level of losses. Currently at 33-114, the team is on the verge of nearing the 1962 New York Mets’ record of 120 losses, the most by a major league team since 1900.

“Everyone in this organization is extremely unhappy with the results of this season, that goes without saying,” Reinsdorf remarked. “This year has been very painful for all, especially our fans. We didn’t get here overnight, and the solutions won’t come overnight either. Since last year, we’ve made difficult decisions to start laying a foundation for future success.”

Grady Sizemore has been serving as interim manager since the firing of Pedro Grifol on August 8, while general manager Chris Getz, who was promoted following the departure of Ken Williams and Rick Hahn in August 2023, is leading the search for a permanent manager.

The White Sox, now in the midst of a 15-game home losing streak, lost 6-4 to the AL Central-leading Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday, completing a three-game series sweep. This marked their 107th loss, setting a new franchise record.

Despite the grim results, Reinsdorf highlighted the resilience of the players and staff. “What has impressed me is how our players and staff have continued to work and bring a professional attitude to the ballpark each day despite a historically difficult season,” he said. “No one is happy with the results, but I commend the continued effort. I expect to have more to say at the end of the season.”

As the team endures what is likely to be their most challenging year, Reinsdorf acknowledged that change won’t happen quickly but remains hopeful that the tough decisions made this season will lead to future success.
