Alabama Focuses on Run Defense During Bye Week Ahead of Key Matchup with Georgia

Alabama has allowed 397 rushing yards over their first three games, and defensive coordinator Wommack is focused on improving that area as the team heads into their bye week before starting conference play.

“This bye week is crucial for fine-tuning some things because we need to keep progressing toward becoming a dominant run defense,” Wommack said. “I don’t think we’re there as a team just yet.”

Alabama’s next game will be after the bye week when they open conference play with a key showdown against one of their biggest SEC rivals, the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs, on September 28 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
