Breaking News: Auburn Tigers’ Head Coach  Hugh Freeze Responds to Tight End Rivaldo Fairweather’s Message to Teammates Amid …

Auburn Tigers head coach recently addressed the remarks made by tight end Rivaldo Fairweather, who encouraged younger teammates to stay confident and focused as SEC play begins. Fairweather’s advice centered on being true to themselves and trusting their preparation, especially with the competition ramping up.

The head coach praised Fairweather for stepping into a leadership role and emphasized the importance of veteran players setting the tone for the team.

“Rivaldo’s message is exactly what we want from our leaders,” the coach said. “It’s crucial for our younger guys to understand that it’s not about changing who you are or trying to do too much when the stakes are high. Rivaldo is reminding them that they’ve prepared for this, and now it’s time to trust that preparation.”

The coach highlighted how having players like Fairweather help foster a resilient mindset, especially as Auburn heads into the challenging SEC schedule. He noted that leadership from within the team can often resonate more deeply than anything said by the coaching staff.

“It’s one thing for us as coaches to say it, but when it comes from a teammate, especially someone like Rivaldo who’s been through the battles, it carries extra weight,” the coach added. “We’re proud of the way he’s mentoring the younger guys and setting the example for what it means to be an Auburn Tiger.”

As the Tigers face Arkansas this week, the coach expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and in their ability to follow the advice shared by Fairweather.

Fairweather made a standout play in Auburn’s recent game against New Mexico, scoring a touchdown on a well-executed pass from quarterback Hank Brown.

“We practice that every day,” Fairweather said. “Just drop a step, make the play, and help the team—and that’s what I did.”

The Auburn Tigers will host Arkansas at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, with the game set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT. ESPN will broadcast the matchup, and Auburn is currently favored by 3.5 points.
