Tigers’ Major Setback: Auburn Tigers in Shock as They Lose Another Top-Experience Superstar to Season-Ending Injury …

The Auburn Tigers are reeling from the news that they’ll be without one of their most promising recruits, freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman, for their upcoming game against the New Mexico Lobos. Coleman, a key member of Auburn’s 2024 recruiting class, will not take the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday night due to a shoulder injury.

As Auburn’s players warmed up, Coleman was noticeably absent from the lineup, spotted instead in street clothes just 90 minutes before kickoff. His status was uncertain leading up to the game after suffering a shoulder injury late in last week’s matchup against Cal.

Earlier in the week, head coach Hugh Freeze labeled Coleman as “questionable” for Saturday’s game during a Monday press conference. However, by the time of Auburn’s Tiger Talk radio show that same evening, Freeze had downgraded Coleman’s status to “doubtful,” revealing that the receiver had sustained a grade II shoulder sprain.

In just two games, Coleman has already shown his potential, recording four receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown, making his absence a significant blow to the Tigers’ offense.

Other Injury Updates

In addition to Coleman, Auburn will also be without kicker Alex McPherson, who is recovering from a gastrointestinal illness. Although McPherson was seen practicing kicks during warmups, he was not suited up for the game.

Offensive lineman Izavion Miller is also set to miss Saturday’s matchup as he continues to recover from a hip injury, further adding to Auburn’s injury woes.
