WNBA player Caitlin Clark has sparked conversation about her political views after liking a social media post by singer Cin support of Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the upcoming November 5 U.S. presidential elections. However, when questioned by reporters, Clark refrained from explicitly endorsing any specific candidate.
Clark was among over 10 million people who liked Swift’s post on Instagram. Following the debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Swift announced to her 280 million Instagram followers that she would be backing Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz.
When asked about her like on Swift’s post, Clark told reporters, “I have an incredible platform, and the most important thing I can do is encourage people to register to vote.” She added that her focus is on voter education, much like Swift’s. “It’s about learning about the candidates and their policies. That’s what I would suggest to everyone in our country who has the opportunity to vote,” the Indiana Fever star shared.
Clark, who was this year’s top pick in the WNBA draft, has gained national fame following her record-breaking college career at the University of Iowa, highlighted by two deep runs in the NCAA Tournament.
