Former NBA champion Matt Barnes, who won a title with the Golden State Warriors in 2017, recently shared distressing news about his son, Isaiah Barnes. Isaiah was struck by a car while jogging and has since undergone emergency surgery. Matt took to social media to update fans, saying, “My guy’s had a tough week. Hit by a car while jogging Wednesday … had a bad stomach ache Friday, tried to play through the Mamba Invitational, couldn’t sleep all Friday night, and finally decided to tell his mom and me yesterday when he couldn’t move.” Shockingly, Isaiah attempted to play basketball with a dangerously inflamed appendix. “I took him to the emergency room, and he had to have emergency appendix surgery. The doctor said it was the largest appendix he had ever seen that hadn’t ruptured,” Barnes wrote. “It’s been one tough week,” he concluded in his Instagram Story.
AUG 11 – “CHEAT CODE” CURRY
Despite LeBron James’ stellar performance in the Paris Olympics, Stephen Curry stole the spotlight during Team USA’s gold medal game against France. Curry scored 24 points, including some incredibly challenging three-pointers, even against 7-foot-4-inch Victor Wembanyama. His exceptional performance earned him admiration from Indiana Fever All-Star Caitlin Clark, who described his play as a “cheat code” on social media.
AUG 11 – CURRY TEACHES “NIGHT NIGHT” IN FRENCH
Stephen Curry gave French fans a taste of what NBA teams experience regularly. After Team USA’s victory over France, Curry celebrated by getting custom shirts made to showcase his iconic “night night” gesture, where he pretends to sleep after hitting a clutch shot. AUG 10 – REFLECTING ON BETTER DAYS FOR MORANT
Before Ja Morant’s tumultuous 2023-24 season with the Memphis Grizzlies, he was a force to be reckoned with on the court. As Morant turns 25 this Saturday, a fan shared a nostalgic video highlighting a high point in his career. During the 2022 NBA playoffs, Morant led the Grizzlies against the Warriors, scoring 47 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and dishing out eight assists.
